'I've Asked a Lot of My Feet'

June 2024 · 2 minute read

Sarah Jessica Parker knows she’s put her feet through some serious stress.

She’s worn heels for years on the red carpet, made single-sole Manolo Blahniks part of pop culture vernacular as Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City and even launched her own footwear line, SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker, which is filled with high heels and strappy sandals.

“I’ve asked a lot of my feet for a lot of years, and they’ve been really good to me,” she tells PeopleStyle during an interview about her new fragrance, Stash.

So it’s no surprise her feet need some TLC.

Her approach is simple, yet effective: “I put on moisturizer and use a pumice,” she says. “I don’t have a pedicure unless someone makes me for work, but I clip my own nails, and I always have a good nail clipper.”

In fact, she’s made toenail-clipping a priority for her family. “Every Sunday night we clip nails in our house,” she says, noting that one of her 7-year-old twin daughters, Tabitha, has been clipping her nails for over a year by herself. “We call it “Clip Clip [night]!”

“Beyond that I don’t do too much,” she says.

She has a similar low-key regimen for her fingernails. “My nails are just buffed and clean,” she says. “I use my hands a lot. I cook. I clean. I do laundry. [Nail polish] is not practical in my life given what my hands need to do every day!”
