Dallas Stars Max Domi Suspended And Fined

Dallas Stars Max Domi has been fined $5,000, the maximum permitted under the CBA. The fine came as he slashed Golden Knights captain Mark Stone.

Domi was fined after Game 3 of the Western Conference Final between his team and the Vegas Golden Knights. This came after Stars captain Jamie Benn was tossed from the match in the early minutes after earning a significant penalty and game misconduct for an unsightly play against Mark Stone.

After the two captains collided near the blue line and Stone fell to the ice, Benn pounced forward with both hands on his stick and made contact near Stone’s neck as he skated over the center line.

Also, Benn received a suspension for two playoff or regular-season games. Apart from that, the drama didn’t end there, as Domi was hit with a game misconduct penalty after he cross-checked Nicolas Hague and began throwing punches.

After they were separated, and as Domi was escorted to the penalty box, Hague laughed. Likewise, he was hit with penalties for cross-checking and roughing and a 10-minute game misconduct.

After that, stadium fans reacted by throwing water bottles, food and other items. With the extended time needed to clean up the playing field, officials sent both squads to their locker rooms early for the second half.

So, those final 21 seconds were played after the break before the clock was reset to 20 minutes for the third period.
