revealed that her favorite cookbook is Ina Garten's "Modern Comfort Food." The actress said everything in the cookbook was never too much, and she loved the Emily Blunt potatoes there.
Now, Garner has shared a favorite seasonal recipe. As winter begins to creep in and people start to bring out the pumpkin spice recipes, Garner has joined the bandwagon with her mini pumpkin loaves.
Garner said in an Instagram video that baking for the people you love around the holidays gets everyone into the holiday spirit and mentioned that pumpkin bread was one of the best things to bake.
The actress called the loaves "impossible to mess up" and said they could be given as a gift to loved ones. The recipe is said to yield one entire loaf of bread or three mini loaves, depending on what you prefer.
Garner's recipe calls for the baker to preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and then cut a small sugar pumpkin in half, stem to base, before removing the seeds and baking face down for about 45 minutes.
The baker will then need to scrape the meat from the pumpkin and puree it in a food processor before greasing and flouring three mini bread loaf pans (or one regular-sized one.) The baker can then begin mixing everything together.
In the bowl of a standing mixer, the baker would need to combine one cup of the puree, two eggs, one and a half cups of safflower oil, and one and a quarter cups of sugar and mix until the ingredients are well-blended.
The baker will need to mix the dry ingredients in a separate bowl. One and three-quarters of a cup of flour should be sifted in with one teaspoon of baking soda, half a teaspoon of salt, half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon, half a teaspoon of nutmeg, a quarter teaspoon of ground cloves, and an eighth of a teaspoon of ground ginger.
The baker must then add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mix until just combined, and pour the mixture into the prepared bread loaf tins. The mixture must then be placed in the oven for 25 minutes.
When a toothpick inserted into the loaf comes out clean, the bread is ready to be taken out of the oven and enjoyed by all. Garner said that people would fight over who got the first loaf once it was cooked.
The post was met with much praise and excitement. Fans and colleagues of Garner's mentioned that they could not wait to try the recipe and that those who had tried it loved it already.
