It is sad to announce that Tara Weaver has passed away in an accident.

On Friday, troopers from the Gladstone Post of the Michigan State Police were sent to US-2 in eastern Delta County in response to a report of a multi-vehicle traffic collision.

A white Toyota SUV and a black Chevrolet SUV, according to the authorities, were traveling eastbound on US-2 close to the Fishdam River in Garden Township at a little before 4:00 on Friday.

At that point, a Canadian semi-truck traveling west lost control and veered off the road. The motorist attempted to re-enter his lane, but instead, he crossed the center line and hit the Toyota SUV square in the head.

Two passengers in the Toyota, Gerald Weaver, 47, and Tara Weaver, 46, both from Escanaba, were hurt and later died at the site.

.

According to police, the semi’s trailer was still in the road when a third car, a Chevrolet SUV, struck the trailer’s end. The driver, a 38-year-old Wisconsin resident from Oshkosh, shattered many bones while being pinned inside the car.

Then, as two more cars were attempting to stop, another collision occurred.

In that collision, no injuries were reported.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the deceased’s family and friends, who have been struggling with the loss of such an intelligent and compassionate individual.
